On F*** Boys and Flirting

Hello anyone reading this blog post!

I have recently come to the realization that I really suck at this phenomena called 'relationships'. Not because I'm mean, or clingy, or anything like that. I simply can't seem to get one! (Perhaps this has to do with the slim pickings at school?)

The last relationship I was 2 years ago...and I'm 18 so I feel like I should be out there dating. But the doesn't seem to be the case. I think I'm too focused on school and work and friends, so I never really have the time to meet someone. But on top of that, I am painfully shy when it comes to boys that I think are attractive in public. I've recently started to smile at them and make flirty eye contact because I have decided that it's time to get out of my bubble (plus it's almost PROM time). Hopefully something will come of this new practice, my goal is to be able to walk up to a stranger that I find attractive and flirt with them...baby steps.
Now that I've established my goals for the future, I want to enlighten you with my train wreck of past dating.

1. I liked my neighbor for literally all the school year and when he found out he stopped talking to me (granted we were 14 so that was a while ago...but it starts here!)

2. I liked this guy for a year but I was too shy to speak with him because he was popular and a year older. (I really should have just talked to him, considering he knew who I was)

3. I had my first boyfriend at 15, he was 17 and things were pretty alright. I was just figuring things out and testing the waters. We dated for 3 months but only 2 officially. He broke up with me 3 days before my sixteenth birthday and we haven't talked since. We never kissed because I was too innocent and blind to take a hint...jeez that was a weird time!

4. I dated a guy when I went on an exchange. I thought he was H.A.W.T. I thought he was PERFECT. But then he was disgusting because I found out he was a pot-smoking, f*** boy, who made out with 28 girls in one night (which he told me on the first date...to impress me?). Great. I dated him anyway for fun, had my first kiss (which was gross) and cried a lot over him.

5. This guy in my class was the cutest thing ever. I really liked him and flirted with him A LOT. He wasn't much into school so he would just sit with me and chat while I did my work (how romantic?). When my school's semi-formal dance was coming up I frequently asked and bugged him to go because I figured he would take the hint. His friend did. He asked if we were "gonna kiss already?" and if we were "going to semi together?" to which my guy said yes. I was like, "What? No! You're not even going and it's tonight!" I said that rather loudly by accident, the whole class heard, and his face went bright red. It ended there. #OOPS

6. I was 17. This boy captured my attention. He was a flirt but especially flirty with me and so I fell for him hard. This shit is just too annoying to talk about in detail. Honest. I'm over him...mostly...but I still haven't fully moved on. And no, we didn't kiss, or anything but I felt like we had a fair share of chemistry. He was a F*** Boy and I didn't find that out until it was a little late...teehee :)

Now, I'm 18 and I will be going to university next year, and with my track record (6 boys, in 4 years, plus a few more that aren't worth mentioning) I will find someone to flirt with. Hopefully it'll go better than the past ones, I mean its not a very high bar to clear.

Here's what I want to do:
I would very much like to meet a guy who RESPECTS me. That's it. I'm DONE, D, O, N, E, DONE with f*** boys. Until then I do me :)

Thank you very much for reading,
Comment if you've had similar experiences to mine!

Until next time,

My Current Favourites!

These are my current six random favourites!
For those of you wondering, no this is not all beauty, these things are just things I have been loving!

Number 1: My Yellow Palladium Boots

No, they aren't the most affordable shoes in the world, but I LOVE them! They make plain outfits instantly cute by adding a pop of colour. Not many people parade around town with yellow boots, which only makes me like them even more! If you are feeling like taking a fashion risk, I would suggest Palladium boots as they've got some really awesome colours!

Number 2: BBC Sherlock Holmes

This is the most captivating show I have ever watched! I am already done every episode available on Netflix! If you haven't already seen it, watch it! Everything about it is g-darn addicting! The music, the characters, the plot! UGHHH they should really come out with the next season already!!!!

Number 3: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Now, I`m not usually one to go out a buy a Maybelline Fit Me product but the concealer was on sale and they had my colour, so I thought I would give it a whirl. Definitely a great buy! Cheap and great coverage! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

Number 4: Quo Mascara

This mascara is amazing! It goes on easily and lasts a long day. I really like it because it gives length and volume to your lashes without clumping, however it is water proof, so if you`re not into that I don`t recommend it. Other than that I would definitely suggest it!

Number 5: Youtubers; Will Darbyshire and Zoella

Will`s videos are very artistic and VERY calming! Plus it helps that he`s cute!

Zoella`s videos are very positive which is what I like about them!

Definitley watch these YouTubers if you haven`t already!

Number 6: My hair! (No the picture is not of me but you get the idea)

Recently (like 3 months ago) I died my hair and made it all ombre and stuff. Honestly, this has definitely been my favourite hair ever! It looks very voluminous and it has lots of texture all the time! Don`t be afraid to try it out!

Those are my current six favourites!

Thanks for making it to the end!

Until next time,

Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016!

Hey everyone! So it's been a while since I have posted and I thought I would come back today with a new post! So I thought I would give a small recap of all the cool things I've done and accomplished in 2015, as well as the new things I am looking forward to doing this year! I know, I know, I'm a little late considering it's almost February but, whatever! It's still January so it's not too late.

Side note: Don't forget to subscribe to my blog!

So lets begin at the start of 2015; January.

In January, I did something I thought I would never have the courage to do; I asked a boy to be my boyfriend. I got tired of waiting for him to ask me so I went out and did it myself! To a lot of you, this is probably nothing, but to me, it was a HUGE deal! Plus he was my very first ever boyfriend! I was incredibly proud of myself and I felt very accomplished!

February:

I got to take the, hands down, most amazing trip of my life! I went to Oahu, Hawaii and had the most grand time I have ever had! We flew in to Honolulu (Hawaii's Capital city) but my family stayed on the north shore which was the most amazing decision ever! For those of you who like the city life, it might be weird but to me it was amazing. From my back porch, I had a lovely view of the mountains and from my front door, I could see the ocean. Every view was breath taking. I will most definitely going back there when I'm older!

March:

Well, I turned 16! Other than that, not much happened. I wasn't the most happiest person this month as my boyfriend at the time and I split up. :( But it's okay, it wasn't meant to be.

April:

April felt pretty great! I was beginning to feel better about the whole break up ordeal. The one good thing that happened in April was ice show! As a figure skater, once a year in April I get to partake in an ice show put on for the community by my club. Last year's was super fun because I had a solo and I nailed every jump and spin in both shows!! :)

May:

So all through February, March and April, I didn't really like any of the classes I was taking so I let my grades slip a little. In May I decided that I was going to change that and I did! I brought my marks up into the 90's, where I like them and was rather pleased with myself. At this point, I was way past over my ex-boyfriend so I was feeling great!

June:

For some odd reason, the month of June is a blur. I'm not sure why but maybe it was because I had exams?? I don't really know??

July and August:

In the summer, I got to go on the coolest exchange ever! Through the YMCA SWSE, myself and about 7 other girls from the region traveled by train to Laval, Quebec. Little did I know that I was in for a journey of a lifetime when I signed up for this exchange. The way it worked was that I switched places with another person my age and lived in their place in their family, while they did the same with mine! I would love to say that I got super close with my host family but, I didn't. They weren't bad people but they also didn't really want to take great care of me. That was okay because I met such amazing friends while on this exchange! I am still in touch with them today which is super cool! Plus, I got to learn so much french while working at my job placement (a summer camp)!! I can't say I'm 100% fluent but, I am way better than I was when I started!

September:

When grade 11 started, I made a promise to myself. That I would make new friends (as the ones I was hanging out with were a BIT dramatic..) and that I would make every single day count towards a very happy year. At school the previous year, I had had a lot of friend drama that made it a bit difficult to be happy every single day. Anyways, this year I started talking to different people, eating lunch with different people and let me say that I am way happier than I was last year. The people I hang out with now are positive, confident and really bring out the best in me!

October:

In October, I had to say goodbye to a friend. A friend of mine had an exchange student from Germany come over and I had to say goodbye when they left. :( However, it was not all bad because I started this blog!!! I definitely was way more consistent in posting back then but, you know, whatever.

November:

My self confidence in November sky rocketed! I did a lot of little things that made me feel totally awesome and I definitely had a lot of fun! Nothing specific happened, however I just remember having a good time! :)

December:

The end of the year was approaching and my self confidence was still good! Even though this year I was making new friends and had new friends, I didn't feel ready to let go of the old ones quite yet. It took until the end of December to feel comfortable letting go completely! That's okay because it isn't easy to let go of people and not look back! I am definitely happy that I did let go of the ones I did and I'm also glad that kept the ones I did!

New Year Resolutions:

I have never in my life made a proper New Year resolution. As strange as that is for some of you, I have NEVER made a resolution to do this or that. I just don't do that! I have made the same resolution for years and it is; to have a happy year! You just don't know what life is going to throw at you and I always wish for this! I hope you do too!

Until next time,

Kat :)

P.S. If you're feeling it, let me know what kind of resolutions you have for 2016! Dont forget to subscribe! x

Who You Are Through Love

Hey Everyone!

So it's been a LONG while since I've posted...and to be completely honest, there hasn't really been a real reason, other than me just being a bit too lazy to write anything. But ummm...anyways, I've decided to write up a new post today about finding yourself.

***DISCLAIMER; It's just a theory so calm down, it doesn't mean it's actually true. It's just a thought!***

I know, I know, it's a pretty cheesy thing to say but I SWEAR there is more to it.

Somehow, I don't think that anyone really knows who they are-at all. Sure you might like playing a certain sport or playing a certain instrument or you like doing some weird quirky thing but; who are you?

You're not defined by what you like and what you don't like. You're defined by your personality.

So here's the thing, people might say that you're a pretty funny person or that you are particularly shy or some other thing that describes your personality but, where did you pick up these traits? What event changed you to act this certain way?

Were you born this way? Or was it something you learned along the way?

There's this theory called the Theory of Accidents (No, I did not make it up). Basically it says that everything we do is because of an accident that happened and if an accident does not occur then said thing won't happen.

For example; a child who crawls can't carry anything in there hands. So the child learns to walk in order to carry things more efficiently. However if a child bum scoots they are able to carry things in their hands without having to walk. Therefore, another accident must happen in order for this child to walk. Perhaps the accident would be that they want to be able to reach things higher up so they decide to walk.

Essentially what I'm saying is that everything that "makes you, you" is an accident and therefore isn't the true you.

Now you're asking me; "well then how am I supposed to define myself if everything that has happened to me is an accident!"

Well, one would have to ask themselves then, if we are all stripped down to our core, what do we all have in common? LOVE!

Then you're all like "Kat- NO!"

But think about it! Every single thing, human or animal has a desire for love or attraction! This means that who we are, is what we are like when we love or are attracted!

Pretty far winded, I know, but it's just a thought!

Until next time,

Kat xxx

DIY Christmas Decorations!

Hi everyone! I'm back with another blog post! This time, I'm going to be showing you how to make a really cool Christmas/winter decoration!

I'm going to be showing you how to create block letters that will hang on your wall.
You can chose any word that you want! I used winter because Christmas was too long and snow was too short but you can do whatever you want!

In the end, your final product should look a little something like this:

So to start of you're going to need; a few shoe boxes (I used 3), white paper, tape, a ruler and scissors!

Using a ruler, you are going to draw out the letter on the lid of the shoe box. Make sure to use as much of the lid as possible.

Cut out the letter but make sure you leave the the rim of the lid so that when you stick it to the wall, it sticks out.

Next, completely cover the letter with paper and stick it down with tape. Turn the letter over and cut around the edges, leaving 1 cm of space.

Fold over the edges and stick it down so that it creates a smooth look.

You are done one letter!

Continue this process until you have finished all the letters in the word you chose.

Finally, stick it to your wall and decorate it!

That's all I have for today!
Until next time,
Kat

Living for Today

Live in the moment.

It's far easier said than done.

I for one, know that I have some trouble with this, especially when I'm alone.

There are definitely times where I breath nothing but the air of now. But I also often feel as though my thoughts wander too far away from now.

So what is 'The Now' and how do we live in it?

I guess I don't really know.

I can say for certain that I know what it is when I am with my friends thinking about nothing but everything we're up to. But when I'm alone, I can't seem to live in the moment.

I think a lot. I constantly have new thoughts in my head. Sometimes so many thoughts that I can't focus on what is coming out of my mouth.

Often times, these thoughts are about my past within the last year or so.  Random things that happened with the guys I've crushed on or dated, problems I've had with friends, people I'm missing.

These thoughts often happen when I'm alone and have nothing to do. These thoughts happen when I'm not living in the now.

I think that when we're alone, we think about our past interactions with other humans almost as a reflex. Mostly because we need to feel comforted that we aren't all alone.

So maybe in order to live in the now, we need constant human interaction, or at least a lot of it.

We also have to remember not to venture to far into the future either.

I often find myself getting really excited about an up coming event and disregarding everything that stands in the way of me and that event.

I feel like we really shouldn't do this either. We shouldn't go through the motions of today just to get to tomorrow.

We should feel like we want to be doing what we're doing at this moment and if we feel like we don't want to be doing it, then why are we doing it at all?

Living in the now doesn't mean planning something so that one day you'll be happy. It means living your life the way you want to now because, it makes you happy.

So give it a go and really try to live for today, not yesterday and not tomorrow.

Until next time,

Kat

An Adventure in Another Book

Hi everyone! So I'm back today with a new post on why I love books!

I know, I know, it sounds really dumb.

But honestly! Books are my favourite thing ever!

There is this quote in my school's library and it says, "Books are a discounted ticket to everywhere!"

I 100% believe that this is true! Never before in my life has a book not been there for me. Whenever I'm having a bad day, I can become a different person in a whole different place and just be okay.

I LOVE getting lost in a book! I LOVE it when I can become the character and live their adventures!

Through books, I have lived, loved and lost SO much! If we think about it, books are incredible! They really are a discounted ticket to everywhere!

The most resent book I read was "Girl Online" by Zoe Sugg.

I would recommend it to those of you who like books that are quite a light subject and nothing too crazy.

If you have any book recommendations for me, let me know in the comments! I will most likely read whatever you tell me too!

I will hopefully be posting again soon!

Until next time,

Kat
